The molecule has a benzothiazole core, which is a bicyclic system composed of a benzene ring fused with a thiazole ring (a five-membered aromatic ring containing a nitrogen and a sulfur in meta positions). The two rings are fused through adjacent carbons of the thiazole.

From the thiazole ring, the carbon between the nitrogen and sulfur carries the only substituent: a side chain beginning with an sp3 carbon.
