Start with two benzene rings linked by a two-carbon saturated chain (C1-C2). Both C1 and C2 are stereogenic and have S configuration.

- C1: in addition to bonding to one benzene ring and to C2, it bears a hydroxyl group (-OH).

- C2: is bonded to the second benzene ring and to the carbonyl carbon of a carboxamide. Specifically, C2-C(=O)-N-, where the carbonyl carbon is double-bonded to oxygen and single-bonded to nitrogen. The amide nitrogen carries two substituents: a methyl group (-CH3) and a methoxy group (-OCH3).
