The issue focused on how many resources are actually spent on teaching children what they need to know in order to write good essays for school. 
 
 However, it got me thinking about how much time I spend doing things I don't really need to do - like eating fast food, watching TV, reading books. Maybe some of these things are actually useful - but we need to stop considering them so useless that we force children to think about what they need to do in order to keep them busy for even a short amount of time.
