The issue focused on a class of structural engineering students at a major research university in the U.S. who were paid to design and build a wind turbine that would "improve the quality of life for over 10 million people in the next 20 years." 
 
 I know it has been over a decade since I took a class in this, but I still don't quite get how it can be called a 'downgrade' to being a student in a class that has been around for over half a century.
