The issue focused by UK spy chiefs this week has been whether Google could continue to operate its dominant search engine even after its ties with Russia were highlighted by US lawmakers in January. Google did not deny its ties with Russia were linked to state intervention in Ukraine but admitted it could still decide not to participate in search terms related to Russia and Ukraine. Google – which runs online shopping services such as shopping portal Amazon and delivery services such as UPS – did not confirm its ties with Russia but pointed out it still promoted Russian language language
