The issue focused on new plant species in New Zealand; some based on red cell types; other based on natural selection; and some based on microevolution. "This kind of research is much more complex than we think it is and it's very important to keep in mind that we have more than one possible approach to such things and that we can't say with certainty which one is right for all and which one is wrong for all."

But his research will also help open up new scientific opportunities to others
