The movie doesn't change in any big way. It's not really hard to make a film about self-destruction. And no one can argue with that. But it doesn't mean you don't get sad. In fact, in spite of the tragic ending, I thought "Man on Fire" was sad. The characters never lose their humanity. They're broken in many ways. This isn't some tragedy in which nothing bad happens. They don't fight through evil in vain. They fight and fail
