The issue focused on medical devices that require external cooling or machines with built-in sensors to monitor biological functions.


More than 40 scientists from academia and industry filed the complaint in April against NASA. It argued that NASA had violated NASA's Science Mission Directorate Science Strategy by failing to ensure "adequate scientific investigation of technologies used for biomedical technology research."


NASA scientist Amy Lorenz said NASA researchers did not study climate change before NASA scientists conducted experiments using laboratory temperature probes. NASA scientists found climate change science studies useful
