The issue focused on several Internet websites that reported Google had developed software to detect computers using encryption technology and block them from accessing certain websites.

On Tuesday, Microsoft wrote in a blog post that it was also aware of the malware used by the hackers to spread through Windows machines. Microsoft said it would provide software updates that could help users protect themselves from malware when they install Windows 10.
