The issue focused on the use of smartphone technology to monitor citizens' behavior, use of public transportation and use of public facilities.


During his speech at a public meeting on Thursday, the Mayor declared that the town had agreed with the judicial review filed by the federal privacy watchdog that the council had violated the citizen's right to privacy through the use of its biometric technology and public privacy standards.
