The issue focused on using a legal loophole to facilitate medical marijuana regulation in the state of Washington by simply treating the marijuana product the same as medical marijuana under federal law.


One of the two groups representing the lawyers who filed the lawsuit argued that Washington state can't stop people who have a government-issued medical marijuana card from smoking it and using the drug as recommended.


In the lawsuit filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Seattle, attorneys filed a request to have the case immediately dismissed,
