The issue focused on another argument made by Attorney General Jeff Sessions that criminal defendants will be able to have their rights back if they admit guilt but later contest that conviction and request to have their rights restored. In addition, prosecutors will no longer be allowed to seek a new trial if they have not satisfied the legal standard that allows a defendant to get the rights back.
