The issue focused on using biological methods to study climate change and how it may interact with society. It was agreed that scientists should be able to study the physical processes of the Earth's surface using conventional techniques, but also agreed on the possibility of studying how society impacts the natural processes of climate change.


A science minister said scientists should not be required to prove their findings scientifically.


The scientific journal Nature suggested a choice of four categories of research topics to study: psychology of nature and management of natural resources
