The issue focused on agricultural products produced by dairy farming areas in western Canada that require permits for food products and livestock feed.


The companies argued that some of their products and feed products have greater risk of being found to be unsafe for use in human consumption, such as medications, pharmaceuticals and food additives.


The Health Ministry said the measures require government approval for food products and for livestock feed products and any product containing certain parts of animal products.


The assessment on the impact of the measures
