The issue focused on state legislative changes last year that are raising costs for people receiving medical treatment in the state to help fund changes to the way private insurance companies are designed to provide health insurance coverage. However, those changes would actually result in greater costs for people to receive care or access to care for which they are already covered.


An estimated 25 to 25 million people will be affected by the changes to Medicaid beginning in 2020 and would have to spend more on medical care to obtain medical treatment that is currently covered
