The issue focused on whether the Federal Government should pay for the cost of installing the New Brunswick Energy Development Authority's Natural Gas Resources Management System program.


Federal legislation is currently being introduced that will fund the cost of the system, which involves making certain gas be made available to New Brunswick. It is believed that if the legislation is passed the Government will be spending about $2 million a year to invest in the program.
