The issue focused on a high-tech prototype from the University of Maryland that uses a mirror to collect and focus light to create "collisions" between different modes of light, creating the illusion of a miniature moving electronic device.


But the university is also facing a privacy complaint from a researcher at Harvard University. He is suing for violating academic freedom and for not disclosing that he is an employee of the university at the time of the study. Harvard University has not named the university researchers as defendants in the lawsuit
