The issue focused mainly on an increase in carbon monoxide levels that was measured from water sampling and air quality monitoring in an urban area. The findings, from a survey on water and air quality that followed about 200 people for a decade, were not entirely surprising, said lead researcher Dr. John Pappalardo, professor of water quality, public health and environmental science at Penn State University.
