This is an important question, and it is important that the answer to it is yes. But before we decide what the purpose is, first we need to know what we do. It is not enough to say, the purpose is "to glorify God and enjoy him forever." That is simply the means by which we live our lives. What is it that we do?

The Bible says, "You shall do no work on the Sabbath day" (Exodus 35:2). Why can't we do work? Is God stingy that he wants us to do nothing but worship him? No, the reason why the Sabbath commandment states the reason for its own existence is that God says that the purpose of our lives is to have fun and have a good time!

God is so interested in having fun that he provided the world for his children to play in. In fact, God is so fun-loving that he provided for us a family. And God has given us the ability to create a family. As parents, we have the ability and the responsibility to give our children a life that is more fun than ours.

We have the power to enjoy ourselves because God cares about our enjoyment. God cares about our fun. God cares about the creation. God cares about us, and
