Alice was the one who was in the way now."

"I'm not. I just saw it happen. It was your father. He's the one who told me to tell you. I don't know what to do," Alice said.

"Why don't you tell her," Jasper said.

"Me? I'm the problem!"

"You are too," Jasper said, as he left the room, and Alice stood, stunned for a moment before she followed after Jasper, and the two of them walked hand in hand all the way down to the lobby to go outside to the parking lot.


Edward stood, leaning against the wall, as Alice was still out in the parking lot talking with Jasper and watching her every move. It was so obvious that Edward was in love with her, as much as he loved Alice he couldn't be with her. She belonged to someone else, so how he was supposed to tell her that was the hard part.

"Here," he thought to himself, stepping out from the shadows, and grabbing Alice, holding onto her and pulling her to him.

She jumped up, a little startled.

"What are you doing?" she asked, confused.

"Shh, it's too quiet," Edward said, and leaned her against the side of the building. "Look at
