Why not add some colour to this?

How many times have we said something along the lines of, 'Why would someone put that colour scheme/pattern/colour combo here? It is such an odd match?'

Today I noticed how many brands have a 'matching' colour scheme.

I don't know about you, but I can't stand the idea of having the same colours in my wardrobe, even though I'm sure some people think it matches perfectly.

For example, the same exact colour combination between the Gap dress (top) and the jeans (bottom) on the top row.

How about the colour combination of this top and the matching skirt on the top row?

Or even this dress and the shoes on the top row!

Why would brands choose these colour combinations?

We have noticed and have made a few notes in the comments at the bottom of the page!
