Divide twenty 8-week-old mice into two groups. 2. Inject one group with clodronate-loaded liposomes (150 µl initially, 100 µl after the first month) twice per week for 3 months. 3. Treat the second group with PBS-liposomes. 4. Euthanize one or two mice at various time points (2, 4, 8 weeks) to examine inflammation and other analyses. If analysis results are inconclusive, repeat the euthanasia and examination steps. 5. Monitor treated mice for signs of weight loss, abnormal stools, dark urine, diarrhea, and fatigue. 6. Euthanize mice at the experiment’s end and collect lung tissues for analysis. If any abnormalities are detected, repeat tissue collection and analysis.
