Abstract: Highlights•The right STS is implicated in social cognition and has a complex topography.•We evaluate how well atlas parcellations on STS differentiate social cognitive tasks.•No one atlas outperformed the others—even randomized parcellations worked well.•Right STS was sensitive to task conditions and how functional maps were summarized.
