Abstract: Domain Name System (DNS) plays an important middle role by coupling data from the Web with the ownership of their hosts. This coupled architecture has shortcomings like inefficient content fetching from the Web and DNS misconfiguration in today's Internet. This paper proposes a new architecture to redesign the current DNS by leveraging online social media system for better future Internet. Instead of hierarchical design, we present a flat decoupled naming system for our social-aware DNS. Moreover, we present our mechanism for query resolution within the trusted members in the communities that will distribute load and reduce traffic in the system. Finally, we present trusted cache scheme in our social-aware DNS architecture to reduce query resolution latency.
