Enhancing BoB cyclone precipitation nowcasting with deep learning: A convolutional LSTM approach using INSAT 3D data
Abstract: Highlights•Developed a Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory model to predict Bay of Bengal region cyclone rainfall intensity.•Trained model on Michaung cyclone data and tested with Asani data to confirm model generalization.•Achieved high accuracy for cyclone Michaung and Asani cyclone.•Achieved very low Mean Squared Error values for cyclone Michaung (Training) data and for cyclone Asani (Testing) data.•Showed Deep Learning’s impact in using high-resolution satellite data (INSAT-3D) for nowcasting.
