Abstract: Highlights•We propose a unified similarity between pairs of objects to handling mixed data.•We integrate this similarity measure with the DPC method recently presented.•The original DPC is improved to assist in better clustering mixed data.•The experiments reveal that the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
