Abstract: Highlights•A novel method is proposed to improve the accuracy of the transmission map.•An appearance transferring method is proposed to transfer the haze appearance of real haze images onto synthesized haze images.•Additive white Gaussian noise is added to synthesized haze images to make them similar to real haze images.•A novel multi-scale attention dehazing network was proposed.
