Abstract: In the field of text-dependent speaker verification, DTW is an effective technique for small foot print embedded systems, due to its low requirements on training data, storage and computation. Research on further reducing the storage has always been active. However, most of the proposed methods achieved compactness at a cost of performance degradation. The purpose of this research is to develop a template compression method for DTW-based systems without performance degradation. At the same time, a novel normalization method for matching distances is proposed. We expect both these two techniques will be effective for not only speaker verification but also other DTW-based tasks
