Abstract: We propose a community detection method incorporating node locations. After analyzing distance distributions between linked/unlinked nodes to measure location influence, we (1) decide suitability of location-aware detection, and (2) develop a novel algorithm that fuses geographic proximity with network closeness. Tests on synthetic and real networks show our communities are geographically tighter and at least as cohesive as traditional methods.
