Evaluation of Plaque Formation - Surface Reflectance Measurement

Abstract: The method for evaluation of microbial plaque formation on the surface of dental filling materials is presented. A solution is presented as the surface reflectance measurement using image processing. Camera sensitivity calibration and color illumination are discussed. The proposed method is able to evaluate the thickness of the plaque in each element of the measured surface. The method was tested on real samples.
