Eye Center Localization Using Adaptive Templates

Abstract: We present a reliable eye center localization algorithm from one color image of a human face. The detection is based on deformable templates, which are only controlled by four parameters. Our algorithm works instantaneously and does not need a preprocessing step like the creation of a database or initial parameters. The experimental results show that the presented technique is very robust under different illumination conditions including pictures of people with glasses and different face sizes.
