Abstract: Highlights•A new multiscale geometrical analysis tool called multiscale shearing non-local guided averaging filter is constructed to decompose the source images.•An anti-noise spatial frequency is adopted to measure the clarity of the source images.•The non-local guided averaging filter is used to refine the focus measure map of each approximate subband.•Multiscale convolutional sparse representation is introduced to merge the directional detail subbands.
