How do network embeddedness and knowledge stock influence collaboration dynamics? Evidence from patents
Abstract: Highlights•We revealed the influence of network embeddedness and knowledge stock on collaboration dynamics.•We identify graphlet degree distribution to expand the measurement of local network embeddedness.•We extract fine-grained knowledge elements to feature knowledge stock.•Organizations with more partners and annular graphlets are less likely to collaborate.•An assignee with broader knowledge, lower knowledge network transitivity, or superior knowledge combinatorial capability tends to seek new collaborators.
