Abstract: Highlights•We introduce a naive approach and a NAS-based approach to find the optimal connection.•We propose CMDC by merely aggregating feature maps at the adjacent scales.•We propose CMD-Net by applying CMDC to the encoder, the decoder, and their cross.•CMD-Net achieves state-of-the-art performance across various architectures.
