Integration of numerical model and cloud computing

Abstract: Highlights •Model as a Service (MaaS) with expert knowledge is proposed as a new architecture of cloud computing.•A numerical model which simulates the groundwater system is constructed as a case study for the MaaS.•The parameters in the numerical model are analyzed using sequential data assimilation.•A first implementation of the MaaS is conducted on the private cloud to prove the feasibility of the architecture.
