Abstract: Normally the interpretation of sort symbols in sorted logics are required to be non empty subsets of the universe of discourse. In this paper we explore the consequences of relaxing this restriction whilst maintaining a separation between the specialised sort theory and the main theory. A sound and complete inference system for a resolution based logic is presented.
