Abstract: Highlights•Image sharpening detection is one of the main topics in image forensics.•Features of slightly sharpened images are difficult to capture.•Based on EPBC, a ternary coding method with adaptive threshold is proposed.•The proposed method is effective in detecting slightly sharpened images.
