Abstract: Highlights•The correntropy based orthogonal nonnegative matrix tri-factorization (CNMTF) algorithm is proposed.•The robustness of CNMTF is analyzed by make a comparison with several robust NMF methods.•The relationships between CNMTF and several previous NMF methods are also discussed.
