An artificial bee colony algorithm with an adaptive search strategy selection mechanism and its application on workload prediction

Abstract: Highlights•We propose an ABC-AS3 that performs well on both OPs with weak and OPs with strong correlations.•We prove the rotation-variant/invariant property of the search strategies applied in the ABC-AS3 algorithm.•We propose an AS3 mechanism to adjust search strategies based on their selection probabilities adaptively.•We conduct a series of experiments on the CEC2014 to verify the effectiveness of ABC-AS3.•We use the MLP trained by ABC-AS3 as the prediction model for workload prediction.
