Small-world network properties in prefrontal cortex correlate with predictors of psychopathology risk in young children: A NIRS study
Abstract: Highlights•We explored the utility of NIRS in assessing risk of developmental psychopathology.•We derived a score for a known risk factor, effortful control, via the CBQ.•Prefrontal activity in 44 toddlers was monitored during arousing movie clip viewing.•The small world properties of the prefrontal network were derived.•Reduced effortful control was associated with compromised small world properties.
