Abstract: Highlights•We optimize public transportation systems by solving multi-commodity flow problems.•We present a scalable column generation approach to find travel time minimal flows.•We enhance our algorithm with a pricing filter and a tailored pricing problem.•We apply our algorithm to a case study for the city of Munich.•Our algorithm allows to solve instances with up to 56,295 trips.
