Cyber-Enabled Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract: Traditional Chinese medicine is a time-honored medical science. With slight side effect and irritation, traditional Chinese medicine has successfully made its own way in strengthening, diagnosing and curing. But shortcomings still exist. Its teaching and diagnosing pattern with subjectivity has made it truly hard to standardize and systematize, citizens find it increasingly inconvenient to see a doctor, especially in area with dense population and poor medical condition, etc. However, with the rapid development of cyber techniques nowadays, projecting the theory of traditional Chinese medicine into cyber space, which is also called as cyber-enabled, would be very likely to solve these problems. We recommend a new therapy method, which we name as cyber-enabled traditional Chinese medicine. It would enable people to diagnose and cure disease by themselves. Sensors embedded in wearable devices could be used to continuously collect and transmit data, while terminator could analyze data and give diagnostic results and prescriptions. During the whole process, the idea of traditional Chinese medicine are considered and applied, which is the crux of our method. Cyber-enabled traditional Chinese medicine's advantages would be generally demonstrated in two aspects: first, taken copious factors into consideration, cyber-enabled traditional Chinese medicine would become more efficient and accurate, second, people could easily diagnose and cure diseases by themselves. Thus, everyone would have access to high-quality medical service without going to hospital. Besides, taking advantages of the Internet of things and big data, based on traditional therapy, adding into accurate data and efficient algorithm, this new method would promote traditional Chinese medicine, providing a new way for existing medical system.
