Abstract: Highlights•This paper proposes a self-organizing weighted optimization based framework for large-scale multi-objective optimization.•A self-organizing mechanism is designed to adaptively adjust the evaluating numbers.•An efficient competitive swarm optimizer is presented to improve the search ability.•The proposed algorithm shows the superiority over other multi-objective large-scale evolutionary algorithms.
