Abstract: Highlights•An affine-invariant non-stationary subdivision scheme is proposed.•It produces G1 continuous surfaces with sphere-like topology.•It is used to construct interactive 3D deformable models with few control points.•Application examples in real volumetric biomedical images are provided.
