2 µm 2×2 Optical Switch based on a Thermo-Optically Tunable Multimode Interference SOI Waveguide

Abstract: We design, fabricate and characterize a thermal-optically tunable Mach-Zehnder type optical switch operating in the 2 μm window compatible with 220 nm SOI platform. It exhibits ~30 dB extinction ratio at 32.3 mW driving power.
