Abstract: Highlights•An exhaustive analysis of dysregulated circular RNAs relevant to RNA editing in cervical cancer was performed.•RNA editing sites (RESs) are symmetrically enriched upstream and downstream of flanking introns of circRNAs.•The coding potential of circRNAs appears to be attenuated by RNA editing.•RESs disrupted regulatory cascades by modifying RBP or miRNA binding sites in circRNA.•Three RNA editing sites could be identified as potential biomarkers for cervical cancer.
