Privacy-preserving reversible data hiding based on quad-tree block encoding and integer wavelet transform
Abstract: Highlights•A safer block-based encryption technique is provided by combining a 2×2<math><mrow is="true"><mn is="true">2</mn><mo is="true">×</mo><mn is="true">2</mn></mrow></math> sized block modulation and block permutation.•Redundant space for additional data embedding is accomplished by quad-tree block encoding on bit planes in integer wavelet transform domain.•Our scheme achieves a better embedding rate than some state-of-the-art methods (0.3864 bpp improvement on average), data extraction and image recovery are also separable and error-free.
