Abstract: Highlights•SGDC-based lightweight IDSs were developed for resource-constrained IoT devices.•The optimal hyperparameters of SGDC were determined with a grid-search algorithm.•The fine-tuned SGDC boosted accuracy and reduced IDSs packet processing time greatly.•The ridge regression-based feature selectors determined the most efficient features.•The fine-tuned feature selectors reduced feature space greatly and improved accuracy.
