Guest Editorial: Introduction to the Special Section on Sensor Data Computing as a Service in Internet of Things

Abstract: The papers in this special section focus on sensor data computing as a service in the Internet of Things (IoT). The Internet-of-Things (IoT) has gained significant attention over the past decade. It “allows people and things to be Anytime, Anyplace, with Anything and Anyone, ideally using Any path/ network and Any service”. The IoT promises to create a world where everyday objects (also called things) around us are connected to the Internet and communicate with each other with minimum human intervention. The number of things connected to the Internet exceeded the number of people on Earth in 2008. The sensory data these objects produce have significant value to many different parties from supply chain management to healthcare services to many more.
