Abstract: Highly parallel algorithms are derived for multichannel FIR (finite-impulse response) smoothing and MEM (minimum-energy method) spectral analysis. The derived algorithms require O(p) computing time and can be performed on a linear array of O(p) processors, p being the order of the filter of AR (autoregressive) model. Thus, a computational saving of one order of magnitude is achieved, compared to Levinson-type algorithms.<
